No fishing, though I did see and eat plenty of fish. Pike and zander were on the menu, The zander (they called it pike-perch) was absolutely beautiful. The pike I could take or leave. Saw lots of smoked bream and roach for sale, but I declined.
I believe the salmon fishing is for pacific salmon on the eastern side. I was travelling between Moscow and St Petersberg (formerly Leningrad) in western (european) Russia on the Volga- Baltic waterway.
Saw an awful lot of locals fishing on the rivers. Mainly fishing for coarse fish for the table. Perch seemed to be a common catch. _________________ "The world and the universe is an extremely beautiful place, and the more we understand about it the more beautiful does it appear."
