Know that feeling  Laughing

Tying them onto the leader is another challenge, especially as the light fades.  Rolling Eyes

Nothing wrong with them Fossil they will surely take a fish or two for you.
i`ve been having great success lately with the SMALL STUFF,,i`m just
back from Straid after an eight hour session and had well over a dozen
on the small stuff the heaviest being over 4lb,,got to hit the vice again

nice wee flies FF. Sorry for the late reply ive been busy and ive just become a GRANDAD again my 1st grand daughter her name is LEAH. Im chuffed to bits  Very Happy. Back to the flies i know they can be fiddly to tie. When i tie mine i would tie in two CDC feathers not the thick part. I would tie it in as if i was tying a PTN if you know what i mean. I find they float better but it can be a curse trying to get your leader through the eye of the hook. Hope your still having success with the small stuff and your not walking anymore your running  Wink

Congratulations on your granddaughter. I have three now so I tell them that I'm three grandas.  Very Happy

Yes I am still catching but I am missing two fish for everyone I hook. I know that I am striking to fast, but it is a very hard habit to break. I tend to hook them when I am not really looking. Practice is the only answer I think.

Yes, tying on is the biggest problem, especially later on as the light begins to fade, I have to predetermine my last fly change of the evening.

BTW, as well as help from Apache on the forum, Firey Brown in person, I am also getting stacks of tips and advice from the guys at Woodford.
Very Happy

quite fancy tying someting similar, i'm addicted to the f fly but the smallest i have is in 12s. I just bought a bag of cdc from tackle shop in antrim, it's so much cheaper than the packs. You have to buy it in grams, it felt like some drug deal was going down.
