Teal Blue & Silver

i haven`t fished this fly as often as i used to so i`ve decided to
tie a few for next season

this was one of my favorites and rarely off my cast in summer
time when daylight was fading and fished well into dark,, i had
some great sport on this so its time for a revival

hook: kamazan b175
thread: black 6.0
tail: golden pheasant tippet
rib: silver wire
body: flat silver mylar
hackle: teal blue cock
wing: teal

Step 1
run black thread to the bend of the hook
and tie in silver rib

Step 2
tie in a tail of golden pheasant tippets,,

Step 3
tie in flat silver mylar and wind towards the eye of
the hook to form a nice even body then wind on the
rib (about 4/5 turns) and tie off
you should now have something like this

Step 4
take a blue cock hackle, strip of the fluffy fibers at the
base of the feather so that you have a bare stem,,
(this makes it easier to tie in) tie on to the hook with
2 or 3 turns of thread (then trim off the bare stem NOT shown on photo)

Step 5
wind on 2 touching turns of the hackle,,again heading
towards the eye of the hook and tie off

Step 6
take a piece of Teal, tie in to from a wing, trim of the waste
and whip finish

Final Step
you dont want all that good work to fall apart
Varnish the head
the final product

this is also one of the old favourite patterns for Sea Trout
tie it and try it

All comments/questions welcomed
Regards
