OK Harry,

My biggest fish is a pike of 26.5lbs. I have had a few over 20lbs, but not for the last 15 years.  In recent years my biggest fish is a mirror carp of just over 20lbs.

My biggest trout Is a nine pounder from Woodford which I caught last December on a small white and pink lure.

My most notable fish have been rudd of 4lb 9ozs and 4lb 6ozs.

I have to be honest and say that although I have spent years fishing for pike and carp I have never really had a burning desire for big fish. Although a big fish is nice when it comes along I have always been happy just to be catching. Not really sure that I am really interested at all in very big trout, fly fishing is not really about that. If I wanted a monster I would think pike or carp. Trout are a different mind set altogether. Be interesting to hear what others think.

big fish

I have had 3 rainbows over 12lb, a pike at 12lb and one at 11lb. My biggest dollaghan was 4 and a half pound, but would really like to get a decent sized salmon as to date (although i am not complainin) have only ever caught grilse to just over 5lb.

Had a fish 7lb 11oz on Corrib on a wet mayfly then in July lost a stonking big fish on Erne I recon into the double figures! Swear to God I nearly packed the rod away never to return and the worst of it was there was no one to see it. I felt better after a quiet weep. Who says we are not a sensitive lot  Embarassed
