Chest Waders

Hi All

what are your thoughtS on Chest Waders ??? IF you use them or have used them what are the Pros & Cons ????

i heard a guy today giving off about a Neoprene Pair that he`d recently bought and couldn`t use..the reason for this he explained is that he had to buy a size 9 BUT given that he`s only 5ft 6in the waders were way to Long...

the companies that make these must think we`re all over 6ft as i personally have seen lots of guys wearing Breathables and Neoprene waders and only the Tallest of anglers appear to have the right fit...

I use the Greys GRX breathables, very comfortable, they come in various chest sizes and inside leg, instead of the usual boot size, medium to xxxl, they also have king sizes for the more rounded figure Wink

Chest waders

I have a pair of scierra neoprenes for winter by which are holding up ok but they were changed 3 times, also have a pair of whichwood breathables which are less than 6 months old but already leak. Have tried fixing them with aquasure but to no avail.
Have recently bought a pair of scierra overtrousers bib and brace because I am fed up with chest waders giving trouble.

My advice harry would be to make sure you buy them from someone who will allow you to return them if they leak.

My view would be not to bother unless you really need them,I know from speaking to other anglers that this happens all the time.

I have a pair of M Scierra breathables which are just a little short in the leg for me (I'm 6'). I can get by in them by unclipping the shoulder straps if I need to sit down or bend. I think I've only worn them about twice so if someone wants to take them off my hands I'm sure we could agree a reasonable price. Very Happy

I have a pair of the Greys GRXi Neoprenes and they are very comfortable and warm not badly priced either  £65  i think they were .

Ahh the leakable breathable waders  Surprised Ive had many a pair and many a soaking over the years because of them. Most of the fishing i do these days is flyfishing for salmon where wading is necessary along tree lined rivers like the finn and mourne. The breathable waders i have now are orvis and this is my 3rd season out of them and ive gave them dogs abuse. I just wish they would make them with built in gravel guards.

I have a pair of Vision that I got off Stevie about 18 months ago now. They dont leak and come in a few different sizes and leg lenght.

I have found a site which is doing cheap waders tho they are from USA but they come with a great rep.
