I was in Maplins today getting a few bits and pieces, when I noticed spools of copper wire for £7.99 ... available from 36 gauge up (0.22mm ,,I think)
the spool weighs about a pound .. there's enough wire on it to last anyone a life time , better than those small spools at 1.50-1.99 available in tackle shops

Being a jock i recycle any old household appliaces and use the copper wire from the leads ,apart from that i get UTC coloured wire from Lough stock and barrel for about £1.50 a spool .
