how do i get the focus on the fly and the backround blurred the way
Fossil done it in this photo ??

Firey,
I just used my digital compact in macro mode. Held camera close to fly with fly in the auto focus zone. Camera done eveything else

Ahhhhhh i see Fossil,,,i know there are other ways which give me better control over the camera,,,no doubt tack will be on soon and it will be information overload for me the man is to damned smart lol

thanks for that Fossil i`ll try a few shots in that mode

Just realised, this is exactly the way your eye works. Focus your attention on a small object in the foreground and distance will be blurred. In target shooting your sight picture contains a sharp foresight and blurred target because you are focusing on the front sight.

im still fighting this depth of field thing mate,,,, ah well got loads of questions for you when you`re over,,,not long now mate
