lough boat

My da's looking to get a wee boat to fish from and has asked me for help. My experience with boats is limited to occasionally hireing one at a fishery. i'm thinking he is looking for something similar to the ones down at straid. How much would a used one of these set him back with and without trailer and is the proper name a lough boat? i've had a look around the internet but it's quite hard to find anywhere selling them locally. burkes boats looks amazing but they look top of the range and quite expensive. Anybody any experience in these matters?

my da is selling his boat in carrick and he should get a decent amount for it. Its a heap of crap but it floats and the engine works as long as you don't want to get any where quickly. The problem is i couldn't even say what a fair price is for what he is looking for. Lets say he's looking for a used 19ft with trailer, we've got a little engine already.

Chris could you Pm me the number please, i've never heard of mags i know stitts but they're mostly sea vessels. also a bal park figure of what you paid for yours would be appreciated.

We got our boats for Straid from Composite dynamics in Carrowdore. I think Marcus paid around 600 quid for the boat and I know they did the shell without the wooden trim for about 500. Look about mate i was offered a few boats with trailers and engines for about 1000 quid.

that sounds quite reasonable, i was thinking they'd be about twice that

da has changed his mind about boat. ah well. the more i thought about it though. the amount of times we'd be able to get it out to some decent water we'd just be better hiring a boat when you get there.

i'd been looking forward to an excuse to buy a new rod too.
