Made in England???

My mate just bought a Hardy Demon 8ft rod from a local tackle dealer. Lovely wee rod for the river. We were down the river the other night and when he was taking the rod out of the rod bag we noticed a sticker on the butt of the rod saying " Made in Korea ". There was me thinking that Hardys claim was that they built their own rods in England.

maybe the rod bag was made in korea & the sticker got attached to the rod by accident  Shocked   with prices hardy charge i wouldn,t like to think they where into slave labour  Evil or Very Mad  your mate should email them about it  Confused  maybe your mates just opened a big can of worms  Shocked but i dont think hardy will ever bring there prices down wherever there stuff is made  Mad

As you say there could be every chance that the sticker got attached by accicdent but it was so nicely placed on the rod that it must have been accidently put there by a Korean lol.

I think Grey's and Hardy's gear is assembled in Korea. This is common practice among tackle manufacturers. The design and tooling and overseeing of the process is under control of the parent company. Quality control is very high. There is probably a better quality control and work ethic from the overseas workers, anybody drive a Rover? If the whole process was completed in the UK you and I would probably need a mortage to buy it. For a Hardy branded product the Demon range seems to be excellent value for money. I am afraid we can't have it both ways.

I Think Im right in saying that most of Greys/ Hardys rods are made in the far east, to the extent a lot of lads round here ( I live 10 miles from the Hardy factory) refuse to buy them, as they have a habit of snapping around 30cm down.
That said, I have a GRX, and as yet have no complaints.
