Moorbrook BloodwormMoorbrook Bloodworm
This version of the apps bloodworm has proved a very successful fly for myself at a number of local stillwaters, fishing both under a bite indicator and using short slow retrieves on a floating line. It can be used on intermediate and sinking lines but personally I have never needed to use anything heavier than a floating line
Hook - Kamasan B110 Grubber Hook Size 12
Body - Red UTC Thread
Head - 3mm Goldhead
Legs - Red Flexi-floss
Step 1. Place goldhead over the hook and place before the eye of the hook.
Step 2. Build up thread base of approx 5mm and trim of excess thread.
Step 3. Take 4 inches of red flexi-floss and insert through goldhead so a loop is formed over the eye of the hook and 2 legs protrude out the back of the hook.
Step 4. Tie the flexi-floss in place and build up the thread to form a tapered body from the goldhead to end of thread base.
Step 5. Whip Finish and apply 1 to 2 coats of hard as nails varnish.

I like that one, just a little bit different from the normal approach.

Little bit of inside wisdom here lol tie it on a straight hook with the bead in the middle gives it unbelievable wobble... but i never told you that ok lol
