Harry pollock fishing is grear craic. When hooked they try to get back to the kelp unlike a trout which you know will run. As for mullet if your hair is black be prepared for it to go grey when fishing for them. Ive seen me fishing over loads of them & getting nothing. They can be caught on fly but as yet ive had no success. Its mullet fishing i blame for going grey & bald  Laughing

What type of setup would use for SWFF

i.e rod, line #, floater/sinker?

Just that I'am heading up the coast for a few days soon
and would love to give it a go!

Thanks

I use 10ft6" trout rod cheap fly reel. Ive got two 40+ lines sinker & floater i like these for distance. Streamer like flies. Go to the thread THANK YOU APACHE i think thats the title  & you can see the flies i use. Fish the sinker for pollock there down deep.

irish angler did a bit on swff a wee while ago, there was talk about using flies that looked like bread. i was thinking of wee white caenis flies. they've really small mouths so i'd guess they'd have to be small flies. i think they eat alge and stuff off rocks and ropes an egg fly might work. we used to see loads of them at carrick marina and i'd spend ages wondering how to catch them(first i'd have to get around the no fishing in marina policy)
