Navar lakes EnniskillenI'm heading to Enniskillen for a week and I'll be staying near the Navar Lakes, has anyone fished these? What can I expect?
Also is there any good privite fisheries nearby that anyone can recommend if it all goes wrong?
Cheers

Try Mill Lough, Ballinaleck, its a DCAL water, you can hire a boat from George, his bungalow is right on the waters edge, near the newly built slipway, usually fishes well near the island.
Navar lakes are quite remote but full of small browns.

navar lakesfished navar lakes last year over the summer and managed to get a 5 or 6 stocked browns all around 1lb 8oz and 2lb out of the top lake (furthest from road). There are 3 lakes, with a very long lane leading to them. If you contact sean maguire from his tackle shop on the banks of the melvin, he could organise boats for you. These lakes are dcal lakes so can be fished just with the dcal permit.Damsels, bibios and olive dabblers done the buisness for me and my mates.

There are some fantastic wild fishing lakes(free) and not to mention the Colebrooke(day ticket) river not a million miles from Enniskillen if you were interested in travelling a little bit.

Just back. Had a great time but spent most of time at Navar lakes, they are suberb. Went to Glencreawan first and managed a couple of nice browns but i think a boat would be better(I didn't bring the canoe as i thought the weather would be pissy) but had a far better time at Meenameen, caught tonnes of mad browns on bushy dries. I did try Lough Keenaghan, but it was in the middle of a Gale so i wasn't fishing the best. Thought it would be better to sneak across border for some cheaper diesil,
