portavoe reservoir

decieded to give portavoe a throw today as it has been stocked twice from january the weather wasnt to bad this morning so arrived and got set up about 11 there were a couple of anglers fishing at the car park when i
arrived had a quick yarn and they said nothing was happening no fish showing so i put a fast sinking line and a gold headed green montana and headed up to the cottage fished away for a couple of hours without a touch my mate arrived got set up and second cast bang into one on a green and white cats whisker on an intermediate line only because he forgot his sinker. i tried various lures and buzzers to no avail  walked the whole lake and flogged every bay you could get a cast at  and ended up back at the car park and hit into a lovely rainbow of just over a pound it was a hard days fishing but its still early  yet its still cold and fish are lying low i am now sitting in work bored because the coastguard have deceided to go on strike lol i havent sleep all day thats dedication for you fishing comes first ha ha ha  Smile  Sad  Smile

Good report David. You are right, it is still early in the season. To me March is winter. I Don't think it is spring until the clocks go forward.  Wink
casko

Things must have been hard enough down there mate? especially if the hot rod only lifted one! he can normally dig them out the best you ever seen.I take that you must be saving it all up for straid next week then? Very Happy
