recent venueswas at kilgad on Thursday caught 5 on buzzers and a blob. later on i got one on a dry i couldnt believe the many fish i lost on the buzzer and how many pulls i got nerly every cast i was getting pulls but before i got time to strike they were away. the rise didnt come on until about 9.00 and i managed to miss a heap and catch one nice rainbow of about 3lb. On Saturday i went to woodford and caught 5 nice rainbows on buzzers 2 of which were caught on darrens fly he tied for the swap:D. then on sunday i went to spring water the hatch was fantastic lots of damsels and caddis about but the fish were taking them sub surface as soon as they were about to hatch but couldnt catch them i only caught one on a cormorant.

recent venuesHi Harry
you`ve been getting around quite a few fisheries lately and catching plenty of fish as well,,its trying times when the fish are taking sub surface and it can get really frustrating when everything you seem to throw at them has little effect,,normally when that happens to me i use a tapered leader and a single fly (usually a tiny hares ear which sits right in the surface) and fish it almost static which can produce some real nice fish,,,i also use a Shipmans Buzzer fished static in sizes 14 & 16 and again only use one on the point so i dont spook them with 2 or 3 flies hitting the water,,i`ve had some pretty good results... tight lines and thanks for the reports..
Regards

Harry, thanks for the updates. Glad your catching.
Firey, thanks for the advice, I reckon I could put that method to good use in the evenings at Woodford.
Cheers to you both.

depends harry on ur preference, CDC is good for keeping the flies high in the water where as a hackle can allow the flie to sit sum surface if need be
