Shrimps

Hi All

Shrimp patterns are a great way of targeting those fish that are hard
on the bottom and wont look at other flies that you have to offer,,,
here a couple of shrimy kind of patterns worth while tying up and more
often than not they will take fish when all else fails,,, i`ve slightly
weighted the one on the left (grub hook) and heavily weighted the one
on the right (living larva hook)..they can be fished on most lines even a
floater as they are weighted and will get down to the bottom quickly but
i would fish them on an intermediate or sinking line for more effect...

i have actually seen these little shrimps in action at Lough Mourne as
i had one in my hand and they wriggle about sideway through the water
kicking their tiny legs,,they come in a variety of colours altough they say
that a greyish olive colour is the more common,,,anyway tie a few and
give them a throw......tight lines............

Regards

Great picture Firey. Very Happy
They almost look real. Roll over a boulder in the water at Lough Mourne and the little critters are everywhere. Sign of good water quality, which is just as well I suppose it's my drinking water.
