Stevie Munn

Id just like to say well done to Stevie Munn (hardy caster) who successfully passed his APGAI qualification on Thursday.

Stevie is a super lad and here we have one of the countries best casters right on our doorstep. I had a wee lesson with him last year and for the money it was well worth every penny. At that time he was £25 an hour but trust me it was the best £25 i ever spent. If you think about it Tiger Woods is at the top of his game and he still goes to a pro to practise his swing putting etc. So we can all do with even just 1 session with a casting instructor.

Again well done Stevie.

I definitely intend to invest in a lesson after I get this winter pike fishing done. Set me up for the new season. Do you do lessons up at Straid Stevie or is it somewhere else?

I would be up for a bit of  Casting  instruction
Maybe if a few of us on the forum could arrange to be
at Straid on the same day and book an Hour each?

Guys I had a chat with Stevie on sunday past and he has agreed to teach anyone interested up atr Straid. Cost is £25 for 1 on 1 tuition for an hour or if there is a couple of us interested then itl be £20 each.

personly i would prefer a more 1 2 1 instruction the benifits this way outweigh the benifits you would get at a group session the group sesions will have  to mayny disadvantages atached if possable could i have a 1 2 1 lesson before or after the group session

Hi Beadhead


It is  1 2 1 sessions we are planning!
Its just that Each  angler can have a one hour session with
the instructor and then carry on fishing for the rest of the day!

Has a date been set yet? Because I am pike fishing in winter a date in March would suit me (no point in having lessons and then forgetting what Ive been taught). If this doesnt suit the rest of you Im quite happy to arrange with Stevie myself if thats ok.

syd i arranged with Stevie for Sunday the 16th March for myself and big Andy as he`s comming over on the St Patricks weekend and Fossil is going to try and make it that Sunday too if he`s not working,,,if that date suits you too we could make a day of it at Straid and take in a bit of fishing at the same time,,,,let me know mate and i can speak to Stevie so he knows how many he`s got that day,,,,,,,,,

beadhead if you want to step in its not a problem mate i can always tie
up with Stevie at another time as i`ll be up at Straid alot over the season
anyway,,i can take mine with Fossil Fish,, i`ll be there on the day and we can all do a bit of fishing

lads looks like i can do it  i can teach a few at a time if you get more, but its always best for me to look at your casting and then fix the odd mistake or show an easy way to do the cast. anyway it will be good fun i might be able to make it Saturday, Sunday and even Monday , but not sure Sunday, defiantly,  but not too early on Sunday morning.

I am definitly OK for a meet on the Monday. Would be quite happy to change Monday's venue if it suits Stevie. What do the rest think. I am placing a lot of importance on the issue of casting lessons.

the thing is Monday is actually St Patricks day and thats the day we all plan to be at Woodford there will be Adrian,Andy,Myself and a few others i think Wattys rock is going too,,,the more the merrier,,,we`re just having a fishing day before big Andy heads home hopefully you`ll be able to make it and if anyone else wants to meet up just come along,

lads this is open for EVERYONE from the forum so come along on St Patricks Day for the craic and the FRIES !

What time is this at on Sunday by the way?

I should be up at about 10.30 but not sure how many getting Lessons . might be bad weather so not great for teaching

the weather on sunday is sunshine and clouds NNE at  13 to 20 mph but it is to die down to nothing in the afternoon
