Straid 13/09/08An impromptu session the night before , scuppered my plans for fishing on Saturday, instead of leaving here at 06:00 to drive to Louth ,I left at 10:00 and drove to Woodford , met Darren and picked up some tying gear, before heading to Larne .
On my way back from Larne I saw a sign for Straid ,kayak was on the roof , fishing gear was in the boot .. sod it I'm going fishing
I arrived at the fishery and got the yak off the roof . rigged it and setup my rod, then the hangover really kicked in, after a few dry wretches and the oath to never drink again ( lies) I launched
It was a glorious day . there were quite a few fish rising . I had my first fish within 20 mins circa 2 1/.2 lb .. no photo of that one ... my camera was in the landrover charging
I was fishing using a hares ear #12 on the point and a teeny nymph #12 on the dropper I had quite a few hits , and lost one a few yards from the yak
Fish number two came an hour or so later
After that I changed flies ,, tried buzzers, wets etc but not even A hit , so back on with the hares ear and teeny nymph and bingo fish number three
I lost another two fish at the side of the yak and had numerous hits , but no more fish netted

Photographs look brilliant. Great fishing Andy, that kayak looks like a fantastic way to fish.
One little question, what is a Teeny nymph?

Strange little pattern. Looks almost shrimpy or hoglousey. Obviously effective.

I tied mine on a G-Point #10 heavy buzzer hook
Awkward as hell to tie ... well for me it is anyway
