Surveys on Sheelin and Melvin

This makes interesting reading, particularly if you go to the recent surveys on the RHS

Brillant work sydb,
I dont know what to make of the surveys on Melvin and Sheelin because I fish both quite often, Melvin I am not surprised with because it has been very poor this year and because of the high phosphates there are billions of buzzers which is not a good sign, by times during the year I seen slicks of buzzer shucks litterally 500 yards long,
As for Sheelin it has fished its head off since mid july with me taking 12 fish one day on dry fly and if it was not for Sheelin my season would have been average but because of the dry fly sport on Sheelin it has been fantastic. The report would lead people to believe it's poor I'm not saying the report is wrong I am just very surprised at the poor findings. I have had 2 big fish on Sheelin 1 two weeks ago and the second on sat past, but I must have seen at least a dozen 4-6lb fish splashing like salmon, they recon these big boys are on snails Rolling Eyes
