what i found more offensive was that all the memebers found it funny and it was only removed when i complned about it i think even the admin and modaraters even comented on its humour bit of a insult to call the site angling IRELAND in view of thes.

I notice that two threads have been removed. One was a blatant attempt at stirring up racial disharmony, that contained nothing that was informative or humourous, and the other was a joke with a gorrilla and a drum.
One was funny , one was downright offencive.
Which one are you talking about?

I am genuinely surprised that you found that offensive, I actually thought it was very funny. If anyone had reason to be offended, I would have assumed that it would be someone who took the symbolism relating to the drum as being close to their own heart. Although to be honest such a person could probably be expected to see the humour. I really find it difficult to describe it as secterian.
I really am surprised by your reaction, but never the less if you find it offensive it is proper that it is removed. As other members of this forum have inocently done, I have under estimated the sensitivity of others.
I apologise.
BTW, what an earth makes you think that I am a bigot? That is a comment I really do find annoying, and strange.

I really hope that does not offend Beadhead, he has problems with minor jokes relating to our differing religious cultures.
Strangley he has has no such problems with making a post that suggests all people of a different religion than his should be thrown out of the country.
Very strange, perhaps there is two of him.
What about an apology for the bigot comment Sean and we can all put this behind us. I think perhaps that you are a young person who initially made a rather ill advised post and has made some rather clumsy attempts to defend that. Stop digging, climb back up and join in with the rest of us. There are few enough of us without starting to lose members.
Get yourself along on St Patrick's weekend and find out who we really all are. Go on, what's the worst that can happen?

What has annoyed me more than anything here is the fact that beadhead seems to KNOW so much about me as a person. Do you know about my background or my religious beliefs. You think that because I found something funny that I am sectarian and a bigot. Believe me and people close to me know all to well that I am not sectarian or bigoted. Because I laugh at a JOKE im suddenly labelled a prod.
Beadhead you posted something on here that wasnt in line with a fun forum. So I take your in C18 or the KKK. No so dont come on here and label any forum member sectarian when you have rascist beliefs.

i would like to address the issue of the offending topics and hopefully put an end to this so that we may all move on
firstly beadhead,,you posted a topic that offended another member ie Fossil Fish,,when he discovered the topic he stated openly that he found the contents of the topic offensive and gave you the choice to edit or delete your own post then immediately reported it to the Admin and Moderators who then discussed the matter and a decision was taken to remove it from the site,the post was DELETED,,
secondly you stated that you were offended by another post and that it was ONLY removed when you complained,,one must therefore assume that you knew the post was already there prior to the complaint from Fossil Fish on your post,,that being the case you should have reported it as offensive once you found the post.. the post in question has also been DELETED
let me make this clear to all members,,should ANYONE find a post that they deem to be offensive in anyway please report it to the Admin or Moderators IMMEDIATELY and the matter will be dealt with promptly,, do not however keep this information in reserve for your own reference only to be used at a later date as some sort of bargaining tool for your own benefit,,,in short report it a.s.a.p
thirdly,,on the issue you have with the name of the site and how it is an insult in view of the post you found,,,,if you look closely you will see it does not say ANGLING-EIRE nor does it say ANGLING-ULSTER,,,it does however say ANGLING-IRELAND,a name that we are all very proud of in that it offers free membership to EVERYONE from all walks of life regardless of their religious or political beliefs,,this is a forum for anglers by anglers
the forum prides itself on having open debate on a wide range of topics for all members to discuss should they choose to do so,,unfortunately from time to time some posts will offend others,,what one member may find offensive another member may necessarily not,we walk a very thin line,,,when the ANGLINGIRELAND forum was founded it was decided by the Admin and Moderators NOT to impose silly little school boy rules and restrictions upon its members,,instead the responsibility lies squarely at the feet of each individual member for the content that he or she writes,if however a situation arises from any such content it is expected that the parties involved act in a gentlemanly conduct to resolve the issue,,should this fail then the Admin and Moderators will act accordingly to bring to matter to a close,,,the Admins decision is Final and no correspondence will be entered into......
Finally,,,apologies have been offered and i now think its time to act as gentlemen and move on from this situation and enjoy the forum and what it has to offer

Maybe I have missed something here, but someone who displays complete contempt for people of another religion than has own, ie muslims, has called me a bigot. I can think of no provacation or reason for that comment. I am still waiting for an apology.
Will be quite happy to move on and behave like gentlemen when apology is forthcoming.
