OK really stupid question time. There is a 10' #6 and a 10'#7, which one is the 6/7? I am assuming the #6, which can also be used with a 7 line.

Not your mistake Paul, there is reference to a 9'6" 6/7wt on the site. Unless I am being really dim and missing the obvious. (That is actually quite a strong possibility).

Greenheart fly RodNo problem FF
not tested this rod before so don't know if a 6 or 7 suits best-
Indeed I have an old Daiwa rod that is rated as a 7-9!

I know that Firey Brown has a 9.5' 6wt Greenheart and he uses a 7 line with it. Very nice rod.

Yep Mate, The 10 . 6 will cast a 7 well as does the 9;6 but it all depends on the action you like in your rod and your casting style, i go one up on quite a few rods, as i like to feel them load, and its easy for teaching, but this only works well with some fly lines and some rods, if you like a stiff action in you rod normally fish what the rating is on your rod, if you like to feel it load maybe go one up, in a floating line.… Some guys will tell you that this will overload the rod, and with some rods and lines it will, but only on very long casts, and we have not found this with the GH rods, with floating lines,
Now
The Irish Custom GH will go one up if needed, with the right floating line, I like the SShoot lines. but there is loads of good fly lines, and also a few very bad ones out there, PM me if you want a list of good and bad lines,
I have tested lots of rods lately working for Hardy, the Hardy Swift rod 9; 6'' loves a 7 shoot line.
this is probably , clear as Mud now
