Was a bit confused over the legality of fishing for sea trout. i don't think i would have had the appropriate license. just had the dcal license

I suppose your right about licences Andy. I spend a fortune on them & i belong to 3 fishing clubs aswell. You can buy the foyle licence for £ 1 with your DCAL i don,t know if you can get it with just your rod licence that,ll do you for there system that includes Carlingford aswell if your after bass or sea trout. To fish the erne estury you need a local or state licence its all very confusing. Some anglers say fishing in the sea is free to be honest i don,t know maybe someone on the forum knows ? but with the amount of licences & tags for salmon i have i think im covered !!! Im thinking of employing a sectretary to sort out all the paper work you have to fill in at the end of the season. Whoever said fishing was easy |

the fish in the sea are free all right. I think that was in the magna carta or something. But sea trout have their own wee loop hole
