after the posts by fossil re cheeks for buzzers i got to playing

hook buzzer size 12 (barb crushed for C & R)
thread black 8/0 (firey tip less bulk and neater to use) Cool
rib silver wire
body smokey bacon crisp packet (walkers)
cheeks yellow strip from botton bit of crisp pkt
breathers white floss

step 1 (the boring one)
place hook in vice and run on some thread

step 2
tie in silver wire near thorax region

step3
secure wire down top of hook to bend (keeps better shape)

and wind back up hook a bit

step 4
secure in crisp foil colour side down..

found this easier if you cut foil to a slight taper and sceure taper in

step 5
wind foil using hackle pliers for more control

to just short of eye  tie off and trim close

step 6
wind rib up hook

i have started to put 2-3 turns as a butt in most ribbed buzzers of late

keep spacing even as poss

step 7

tie in white floss with a short piece over eye (dont worry about too much length as trimmed l8r)

step 8
secure the floss further and then double it back onits self and start to form a thorax

step 9
build up thorax thread only

step 10
tie in cheeks ( yellow strip near bottonm of crisp bag) colour side inwards

step 11
pull foils forward to form cheeks and secure

i find after a few tight wraps ot thread i can then nick a wee cut in foil and it then pulls off easier than trying a single cut. Cool

step 12

whip finish and varnish trim breathers to desired length

and....

hey presto mr lineker a smokey bacon buzzer

hmm plus u need to empty pack first lol
